We are here!!!

We arrived safe and sound after a few "kerfuffles" (talking like an Aussie already). My luggage got destroyed on the trip across country, but thanks to United Airlines I now have a bigger and better one. Coming into Melbourne the first time the plane got diverted due fog and we turned around and had a brief stop over in Sidney.
Melbourne is a beautiful city, Victorian and modern all mixed together. Love our hotel, it was a wool storage warehouse and office building, remodeled into a beautiful modern hotel with character.
Today it is "Melbourne Day", and we thought the bag pipers and celebration was for our arrival. Walked for miles then took a tram around the city.
Now for a note from Patty--Jane doesn't want credit for this one. As for my hunt for a crocodile dundee, I have been disappointed. All the young men appear to be quite effeminate in their skinny legged jeans. We did encounter a nice man who said it was so nice to see Americans touring their country. Come join us it is beautiful here. I will continue to let you know if it is a myth regarding outback men. It is the least I can do for you all. I did see a aborigine man building a fire today.
