Great Barrier Reef and the Rain Forrest

Believe it or not, but I sitting outside on a Port Douglas sidewalk sipping on a vanilla thick shake at an Internet cafe. To say it is hot and humid here is an understatement. What a day we had yesterday. Traveled 1 1/2 hrs out by jet pontoon boat to outer great barrier reef. Jane and I took a 45 min guided snorkeling tour. Had to wear special suit to protect us from stinging jelly fish and a wet suit. Helped make us buoyant in the water. I am very pleased to report that we did not see or encounter anything scary. Today we went to the rain forest--took a gondola ride through the top of the trees. Beautiful. So far on our trip southern Aus has had rain of "Biblical proportions" (this was the weather forecast). At least that happened after we departed Melbourne. And we had thunder storms while at Uluru (photographers wait months to see what we experienced). Now NZ has had a major earthquake in Christchurch. Our tour guide has said that Christchurch is 2 weeks away on our itinerary, so not to worry. We are fine and having a great time. Going out this evening on a boat looking for crocodiles. As for the men, read an article in the paper this morning saying that Aus men are becoming more metrosexual. Oh well, can't have everything.
Will post this and hope for the best for pictures on the next post.
