Sydney

Hope you enjoyed the pics. Our solution is to find a eager young Aussie geek at a Wi Fi cafe and buy him ice cream. We are at a McDonald's now and the prospects don't look good yet.
We have seen a lot of Aus in a very short time. After our last post we took a balloon up to see the farm country inland from the Coral Sea. We saw the sun rise. Beautiful! We could see a few kangaroos and looked down on mango plantations. That after noon we flew to Sydney.
Note from GramE Patty: As I sit here I have A$30.25 in my pocket and I am afraid that I don't have enough money for dinner. I just bought a McDonald's sundae (at home $1.08--here A$2.65. Dinners have been costing us up to $50. This is one of the most expensive places to live and the average person has mortgages in excess of $350K. Shopping is incredible--wouldn't believe the beautiful stores and designer clothes. We loved our performance at the Opera House. What a magnificent building! We traveled out into the Blue Mountains yesterday--9 hour bus ride (Yuck), but did see wild kangaroos in the field and the scenery was breathtaking. Will bring home pictures as I don't see an approachable young man to upload pictures for us. As for the Crocodile Dundees, I think it must be an urban myth--much like our Marlborough Man.
We fly out tomorrow morning for NZ. Happy Anniversary Dave. I think Jane misses you and would love to share these experiences with you.
Our travel guide does not have a final determination on Christchurch. While our hotel has minimum damage, we are not sure if we will be allowed into the area. Will let you know as we know.
Oh yes, went to wild animal park yesterday. Will show pictures when we get home. We did touch kangaroos and koalas. Didn't fill silky like Belle or Sterling--fur very thick.

Hey GramE! I read your most recent posting to the boys this morning while they were eating breakfast. They were very excited to hear about the kangaroos and koalas. Tyler and Chase are both at school today and Belle had her annual exam. Poor Belle was told that she needs to loose 2-3 pounds. Chase has been having a little bit of a rough start in the mornings when I leave, but his teachers say that he is fine after a few minutes and then does great. Tyler's teacher told me that he a real joy to have in class and is such a good listener. I didn't dare ask if she was sure she was talking about my Tyler. :) Speaking of Tyler, he finally had it with Logan yesterday and pretty much unleashed on him. I did do the responsible mom thing and sent him to time-out. Of course, I could not help but think that you would be really proud of him. Logan did have it coming! Anyway, it is a beautiful day in Danville. Blake and I will walk to school to pick-up Tyler and Chase and then we have a playdate this afternoon with Keturah and the boys. Tyler's first teeball game is Saturday morning. Keep the updates coming. We do miss you, but are so happy that you are having such a wonderful time. Oh, Tracy & Grandma are going well too! Love you!
